WHY GOA?
Goa is a small state of India, which was colonized by the Portuguese, and therefore of Christian culture, which distinguishes it notoriously from the rest of India, which sometimes leads to think that it is an island.
But GOA and IBIZA maintain, in their recent history, many similarities and a parallel evolution.
In the 70’s and 80’s, the alternative young people who appeared on Ibiza (called hippies, beatniks, freaks or “peluts”) came or went to Goa from Ibiza. They used to spend the summer months in Ibiza and the winter months in India, basically on the beaches to the north of Goa (Calangute, Anjuna, Arambol…). The love for nature, nudism on the beaches, the music, the eternal parties, the culture of drugs… took place in the same way both in IBIZA and GOA. And because of this link between IBIZA and GOA that we wanted to highlight when we called our company GOA CATAMARANES.
