Catamaran excursion around Es Vedrá and Atlantis with the family

A family's experience on a day trip with us in Ibiza

In this post we share with you the experience of a family with children on board of one of our catamarans on a day trip visiting Atlantis and Es Vedrá. Here they tell us their experience first hand.

For our family vacations we repeat Ibiza, but this year we rented a catamaran to spend the whole day sailing and discovering the hidden coves of the Island. We left Cala Tarida in a dinghy where the boat was anchored, it would be exclusively for us the rest of the day, so our adventure began!!!

We had our doubts, since being all day with small children on a boat was quite a challenge, but the boat was spacious, comfortable and safe. We had everything we need to enjoy and the tranquility of having an experienced captain in command. We chose the one-day route through Atlantis and Es Vedrá.

The first cove we discovered was Atlantis, Sa Pedrera. We wanted to see it for a long time since it is one of the best kept secrets on the island, it does not appear on tourist maps, and due to its location it is difficult to reach by land especially if you don’t know the forest and the road. It is perfect for arriving by sea, so we thought it was fantastic that Goa offered us this route.

A very curious place, a stone jetty in the shape of a quarry with carved figures and paintings on the walls, who would say that such an amazing thing existed in Ibiza! Of course this island never ceases to amaze us. The children had a great time jumping off the rocks, taking out their wildest side, at times it didn’t even seem like they were from the city.

The next thing we visited was Es Vedrá. During navigation, the captain told us several stories and legends about this mysterious rock. It is well known if you come to Ibiza,it is a must to visit this mystical rock, although seeing it from the sea is really impressive.  Since it is not allowed to walk on land, the closest you can be is by boat. It was magical, being so close transmits an indescribable energy. We were snorkeling and refreshing ourselves in its deep waters.

After this sensory route through the south of the Island, we headed to Cala d’hort where a table awaited us at beach bar where we tasted an Ibizan-style rice with seafood. On the return we were taken back to Cala Tarida to leave the boat. Thank you Goa for joining us on this mystical journey full of unique sensations through the hidden spots of this unique Island. We will be back!
